MARITIME PROTECTION POLICY

Coasts & Ports has adopted the requirements of the ship Protection Code and port facilities PBIP and is committed to ensuring that all operated Vessels comply with the measures established in their Protection Plans, it is Company policy:

  • Guarantee that the Officer of the Company for Maritime Protection (OCPM), the Captain and the Ship Protection Officer (OPB) have sufficient and adequate theoretical and practical training by providing the necessary resources to enable the development of the ship protection policy.
  • Guarantee that the Officer of the Company for Maritime Protection (OCPM), the Captain and the Ship Protection Officer (OPB) have the necessary support in order to fulfill their duties and responsibilities, to contribute with the Contracting States and the Port Facilities, in order to help compliance with its policy and objectives of maritime protection.
  • Prepare contingency plans for emergencies related to possible protection incidents.
  • Continuously improve management techniques and awareness regarding the protection of both ground and on-board personnel, including emergency preparedness regarding protection.
  • The prohibition of the carrying of firearms or weapons in all its fleet, unless they are government agents and duly authorized or private maritime security guards.
